Course Overview
There’s a pattern that repeats itself across architectural firms. Revit gets adopted because a project required it, or someone decided it was time. Families get pulled from websites without anyone understanding what’s inside them, and construction documents in Revit end up taking longer than the CAD workflow they replaced.
That’s not a software problem. It’s a training gap, and this Autodesk Revit Training program is built to close it. The course covers the full Revit Architecture workflow from project setup to issued documentation. Revit Drafting, Revit Family Creation, and BIM Design Software fundamentals are covered in a sequence that reflects how real projects move. New to BIM or already using Revit with gaps, this Revit Architecture Course gives you the structure to work with real confidence and complements wider business training programs.

- Outline
Course Outline
Day 1: Introduction to BIM and the Revit Environment
- Before modeling a building, you need to understand what the software is trying to do. This day covers Building Information Modeling Course fundamentals, what a parametric model is, how Revit differs from CAD, and what the interface is for.
- The walkthrough stays practical, focused on what matters in a live project rather than theory that rarely survives a deadline.
- Real coordination failures are brought in to show what happens when Revit gets treated as drafting software rather than the information model it is designed to be.
Day 2: Building the Architectural Model
- Early decisions compound through every stage that follows. This day covers getting them right: grids, levels, walls, floors, and openings built in a way that the model can develop with.
- Participants work through the correct project setup, placement of elements, and building something coordinated rather than just visually complete.
- The output is a working model that each participant carries forward through the rest of the week.
Day 3: Revit Drafting, Annotation, and Views
- The model gets you most of the way there. This day covers what is needed to turn it into a legible drawing set: view creation, view templates, dimensions, tags, and Revit Drafting conventions from real practice.
- Sheet setup and the relationship between model views and issued sheets are covered. An annotation that breaks when the model changes causes more problems than most expect.
- Exercises run throughout, so participants leave with real drawing output, not just interface familiarity.
Day 4: Revit Family Creation and Content Management
- The quality of a Revit model reflects the quality of its families. This day covers Revit Family Creation: categories, parametric geometry, constraints, and content that behaves when loaded into a project.
- System, loadable, and in-place families each get covered, so participants know the right approach for each situation.
- Participants leave with families they built themselves and the understanding to handle any content gap on a live job.
Day 5: Construction Documents, Coordination, and Certification Preparation
- The final day is about taking the model to issue. Construction documents in Revit, schedules, sheet sets, and exporting into formats consultants can use are all covered.
- Coordination tools and consultant model linking are introduced so participants understand their role within a wider project team.
- The Revit certification test gets dedicated attention: key areas reviewed, practice scenarios worked through, and feedback given on what is needed before attempting Revit Architecture Certification.

Training Methodology
- This Autodesk Revit Architecture Course combines:
- Practical modeling workshops built around one real project across the full week
- Live Revit Family Creation exercises and peer review
- Hands-on Revit Drafting and sheet production sessions
- Group discussions drawing on cross-industry BIM experience
- Structured Revit certification test preparation and exam guidance

Certification
Participants receive a course completion certificate from GII Corporate & Industrial Training Center. The program prepares you for Revit Architecture Certification and the Autodesk Certified Professional qualification. In-house Training is available for full design teams. Check the GII Training calendar or enquire now for dates and group options.
- Case Study
Case Study Example
A mid-sized practice had been running Revit for two years with no formal training. Coordination issues were routine, and construction documents in Revit were taking longer than the old CAD process. After structured Autodesk Revit Training, the team rebuilt their template, standardized their library, and reworked their workflow. Consultant queries dropped, and the project architect stopped rebuilding sheets every time a change came through.
- Why Choose
Why Choose This Program?
BIM training that stays theoretical is of no use when drawings are due Friday. The GII Autodesk Revit Architecture 2019 program is built around practical scenarios and skills that transfer when the pressure is on. New to BIM or ready to stop working the hard way, this Revit Architecture Course gives you what the work demands. Enquire now or check the GII Training calendar. The ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Course is also available within the Global Industries Intelligence training portfolio.
