Most companies don’t have a shortage of training. They have a shortage of training that sticks. An engineer comes back from a week away, and by Thursday the plant runs exactly as it did before.
Global Industries Intelligence, known simply as GII, was set up to change that. GII is a corporate training company that works with engineers, plant teams, managers, and HR departments. We run corporate training programs for organizations across the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa.
This article explains who we are, where we work, the kind of training we do and how companies work with us.
Where Does GII Work?
GII has three offices: London, Karachi and Abu Dhabi.
| Office | Address | Phone |
| London, UK | 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU | +44 20 4525 8028 |
| Karachi, Pakistan | C-120/1, Sector 11-B, North Karachi | +92 33 0064 5900 |
| Abu Dhabi, UAE | 12 M39, Musaffah, Abu Dhabi | +971 2 642 2414 |
The Abu Dhabi office sits in Musaffah, one of the UAE’s main industrial zones. That’s not an accident. A lot of our work happens close to refineries, power plants and factories, and it helps to be near the people running them.
The training itself isn’t tied to those three cities, though. Sessions run in more than 30 cities, from Riyadh and Muscat to Istanbul, Lisbon and Vienna. If you want to see what’s running where, the full training portfolio lists dates and venues for the year.
What Kind of Training Does GII Do?
Our work leans toward industrial skills training and technical subjects, though we cover the management side too. In practice, GII works like a technical training center that also understands how decisions get made in the office upstairs.
Maintenance and Reliability
This is a big part of what we do. It covers keeping turbines, pumps and compressors running, planning shutdowns without blowing the budget, and finding the real reason equipment keeps failing instead of patching the symptom. Reliability engineers who want a recognized credential often work toward the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional qualification.
Engineering, Electrical and Safety
Electrical and instrumentation work, mechanical maintenance and health, safety and environment (HSE) all sit here. These are the skills that keep a site both productive and safe, and they’re the ones auditors ask about first.
Energy, Utilities and Sustainability
Power generation, water, grid operations and the shift toward cleaner energy, including hydrogen. Utilities are changing fast, and their teams need to keep up.
Management, People and Digital
Leadership, finance, HR, procurement, supply chain, cybersecurity and digital transformation. A plant can have great engineers and still struggle if budgets, people and data aren’t managed well.
Much of this is industry specific training. A refinery supervisor and a hospital administrator might both need “leadership” skills, but they face very different days. So we shape the content around sectors like oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, hospitality, law enforcement and defense.
How Does a Company Work With GII, Step by Step?
Working with us is fairly simple. Here’s how it usually goes:
- You tell us what’s going on. Team size, the problem you’re seeing and any deadline you’re working against.
- We look at the gap properly. We ask about your industry, your goals and how you’ll know the training worked. If you already know exactly what you need, say a SABSA certification for your security architects, this step is shorter.
- We match the program, the trainer and the format. That could be a public session at one of our venues, a live online class, or training at your own site.
- You get a proposal. For in-house work, this usually arrives within 48 hours.
- Training happens. Public sessions run on fixed dates. In-house programs typically go from first brief to delivery in two to four weeks.
Some organizations come to us once. Others set up a yearly agreement so their technical training services are planned in advance, with the same trainers and a steady budget.
How Does Training at Your Own Site Work for Company Teams?
With in-house training, we bring the trainer to you. Your team stays on site, nobody books flights and the content is built around your own equipment, procedures and problems.
These are customized training solutions in the real sense. We don’t run a standard session with your logo on the slides. We adjust examples, case studies and exercises so they match what your people actually deal with.
This works best when:
- Five or more people share the same skill gap
- Your processes or equipment are specific to your site
- The work is sensitive, as is common in defense and government
- You’re facing a deadline, such as an audit or a project start
Of all the employee training solutions we offer, this is often the one with the clearest payoff, because the whole team learns together and goes back to work together.
Who Does GII Company Help?
We mostly work with four groups.
Engineers
Mechanical, electrical, process and reliability engineers who need hands-on technical skills training they can use on the next job, not theory they’ll forget by the weekend.
Plant and Maintenance Teams
Supervisors, planners and technicians who keep sites running. For them, better planning and fewer surprise breakdowns matter more than anything.
Managers
Operations, finance and IT managers who need to lead teams, control costs and run services well. IT service managers, for example, often build a shared way of working through ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
HR Teams
HR teams are often the ones who have to find the right training, justify the cost, and show results afterward. We help them define what success looks like before anyone sits in a session, so the case for the budget is easier to make.
What Makes GII Different as a Corporate Training Company?
We’d rather stick to facts than slogans. Here’s what’s true about how we work:
- Our trainers come from industry. Each one has worked in the field they teach and goes through a vetting process before training with us.
- We ask before we recommend. Every engagement starts with your problem, not our catalog.
- We cover both sides of a business. GII works as a corporate training center for management teams and an industrial training center for plant and engineering staff.
- Three ways to train. Public sessions, live online classes, and in-house delivery.
- Clients rate us 4.9 out of 5 on Google, based on reviews from verified users.
If you’d like a broader look at what we do, the GII website covers our sectors, venues, and upcoming dates.
Let’s Talk About Your Team
Every team has a gap somewhere. Some know exactly where it is, while others only see the results: missed targets, repeat breakdowns, a failed audit. Either way, a short conversation is the best place to start. Tell us about your team, your industry and your timeline, and we’ll suggest a sensible next step. For more details contact us now.
